Former Health System Director of Pharmacy Joins Fast Growing Cloud Software Provider as Vice President of Sales
Washington, DC — Kit Check™, provider of automated hospital pharmacy kit processing software, announced today the hiring of Doug Zurawski, Pharm.D. as Vice President of Sales. Dr. Zurawski joins Kit Check™ after five years as West Region Director of Pharmacy for the St. John Providence Health System (Ascension Health) of Detroit. Earlier in his career, Dr. Zurawski spent four years at McKesson Automation followed by seven years with ForHealth Technologies where he served as National Vice President of Sales.
“Doug has a rare combination of sales experience in hospital pharmacy automation and a distinguished career in hospital pharmacy leadership and education. As a practitioner and industry veteran, he can speak to Directors of Pharmacy as someone who has walked in their shoes. His expertise in hospital pharmacy operations will help us deliver even more value in reducing kit processing cost while increasing accuracy,” commented Kit Check™ CEO Kevin MacDonald.
“As a former health system pharmacy leader, I personally understand the challenge of manually processing hospital pharmacy kits. Directors of Pharmacy are constantly asked to cut costs without compromising patient safety. At the same time, hospital pharmacies are saddled with legacy manual processes such as kit processing that have few automation options. I became intrigued with Kit Check™ because the solution automates an onerous pharmacy process and reliably increases accuracy while cutting processing time by 90%. This is exactly what Directors of Pharmacy have needed for years,” said Zurawski.
Dr. Zurawski earned his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy where he currently holds a faculty appointment. He completed an ASHP accredited residency program and has served in hospital pharmacy leadership for nearly 15 years.
