New York Methodist Hospital Receives HIMSS EMR Stage 7 Certification Using Kit Check

2017 is off and running for Kit Check pharmacies across the country! In New York, the year started off with the recognition of long time Kit Check partner hospital, New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (NYPBMH), for their use of RFID technology to improve patient care. Leveraging Kit Check since 2015 to process medications for everything from crash carts to OR trays, NYPBMH received Stage 7 revalidation on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model.  Parag Mehta, M.D., Senior Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chief Medical Information Officer, indicated in a statement that the hospital was able to reduce mortality due to sepsis by 6% as a result of their efforts.

Kit Check partners with over 20 hospitals in New York, and more than 300 throughout the country, to use RFID tagged medication to free up pharmacists’ time and, through analytics, track patterns of medication use that help enable data driven business decisions that drive down costs. We’re honored to partner with NYPBMH as they continue to make a positive impact on the lives of patients and providers.  NYPBMH will be recognized at the 2017 HIMSS Conference & Exhibition on Feb. 19-23, 2017 (#HIMSS17) in Orlando.
