Healthcare Dive Highlights How Kit Check, Amazon, Cleveland Clinic, Optum and Others are Using AI to Improve Healthcare Delivery

In a recent article, Healthcare Dive highlighted how Kit Check, Amazon, Cleveland Clinic, Optum and others are successfully implementing AI into healthcare solutions to cut costs and improve patient health. The healthcare AI technology market is expected to increase significantly according to market intelligence firm Tractica, reaching more than $34 billion in 2025, compared to just $2.1 billion in 2018.

Healthcare Dive explains how Kit Check is using machine learning to help hospitals identify drug diverters with its Bluesight for Controlled Substances solution. The product is able to determine high-risk hospital employees by using multiple data sets, including physical location, documentation and timing behaviors. The risk score is determined by “your peer group and on your hospital to basically figure out if you’re unusually high or unusually low” Kit Check CEO Kevin MacDonald commented in the article. It can also help reduce overall drug spend especially among those classified as controlled substances by decreasing drug waste while also improving safety and compliance.
