This week we come together to celebrate the bravery, compassion, and determination of nurses. There are currently more than four million nurses practicing in the United States, and they are some of the most trusted professionals across any industry.
Nurses are on the front line of patient care, every day. They are highly trained, highly skilled health care professionals, and they are the ones who see patients multiple times a day, who monitor progress and reactions, who administer medications, who make recommendations to doctors about treatments, and who often get to know their patients by name.
In a word, nurses are essential. Even in the best of times.
Today, this week, and this month we honor these brave, compassionate, fierce, focused and dedicated individuals who are the heart and the backbone of healthcare.
